The DOD lists 3,887 missing casualties in their PMSEA database. 

3,306 were military, 491 were civilians/fornats.  There were 662 military POWs (out of the 3,306) who got out alive either through negotiated release or through escape (30 military escaped, 63 were released early before Feb 1973, 568 military were repatriated at the final release Feb-April 1973). 

 The POWs who got out alive (from the 3,306 above) were:  

  • Army: 140
  • Air Force: 333
  • Marines:  38
  • Navy: 151
  • USCG: 0

Total: 662.  

65 POWs died at the hands of the enemy from torture, brutality, execution and lack of medical care.

Army: 624 E1-E8, 159 O1-O5, 114 W1-W4. (Total: 897)

Navy:    149 E1-E9, 545 O1-O6.   (Total:  694)
