Prisoners of War Panel: Dr. Kushner’s Capture (Pt. 2) | Vietnam: Valor and Sacrifice Symposium

Inspiring stories of heroism and gripping tales of captivity of four Vietnam Medal of Honor recipients and four former Vietnam Prisoners of War. Each recalled their experiences and answered questions at the National Infantry Foundation’s “Vietnam: Valor and Sacrifice” symposium. The symposium was part of the dedication of the new Vietnam Memorial Plaza, featuring the Dignity Memorial® Vietnam Wall at the National Infantry Museum.

Aviation Storytellers: Surviving the Hanoi Hilton with Lt Col (Ret) Barry Bridger

Lt. Col Barry Bridger presents his incredible story of how he and other Prisoners of War were treated and how they survived. Barry spent 6 years at the Hanoi Hilton. This presentation was made possible by Trust Vets, First Command Financial Services and hosted at Rasmussen College, Blaine MN.

Return to Hanoi: 50 Years of Freedom

Retired Air Force Col. Robert Certain, a B-52 navigator and former prisoner of war, worked with MOAA to organize a trip back to Vietnam to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Operation Homecoming and the return of more than 600 POWs from North Vietnam. Seven former POWs as well as family and friends joined Certain to see southern Vietnam and Cambodia and return to Hanoi to see what remains of the infamous Hanoi Hilton prison.

Gerald Coffee – Liberty University Convocation

On November 6, 2013 at Military Emphasis Week’s Convocation, North America’s largest weekly gathering of Christian students, Gerald Coffee spoke to students and faculty about the four different levels of faith, that being faith in yourself, your fellow man, America, and ultimately, faith in God. Major Joe Crecca, a Vietnam Prisoner of War, shared his story with airmen on Ramstein for POW/MIA week. Major Crecca was help prisoner in Hanoi, Vietnam for 2,280 days.
